What Is the
PHOTO-STATION?
The main component of the
PhotoStation system is the workstation which houses the film scanner
and operational software of the system. The powerhouse brain of the
PhotoStation system is the RIP computer. It prepares images for printing
and manages the color printers. The
Xerox DocuColor acts as a normal color copier, a 400 dpi color scanner
and a photo-realisitic color laser printer. An additional output device
belonging to the PhotoStation is an Encad wide-format inkjet printer
capable of true 600 dpi resoultion and sizes up to 24" by 100'
.
Additional workstations can be added to the same output system for higher
productivity and less expense.
A high-speed internet connection is also available for quick file transfers
to and from the internet.
Connecting all the individual componets of the PHOTO-STATION is a high-speed
100 megabit network. Files are transfered at rates faster than a megabyte
per second with printing speeds exceeding almost all color printers
available on the market today. Better yet, the network is upgradable
for future technological innovations.
